Jessica Alba has signed on for her next role as a small town prostitute as a way to say she is ready to be taken seriously by Hollywood.

It’s not that they don’t take her seriously, but she has never been in a movie that was very respected in the industry. Michael Winterbottom is giving her a chance to showcase her dramatic skills by trusting her with the role of the hooker in a small town for the thriller remake of The Killer Inside Me.

Variety reported that the Jim Thompson novel, that starred Stacy Keach in the 1976 version, will have Casey Affleck star as the West Texas sheriff turned ruthless, sociopath murderer.

This is a good attempt to be taken seriously as an actress. Roles where you have to be either unattractive or get down and dirty as a hooker or stripper. Since she hasn’t had much luck with most of her latest films like her summer flop The Love Guru and went unnoticed in Awake and The Eye, it’s good she pounced on this offer.

She’s not going to have too many opportunities arise if this one is a failure, but I’ll keep nothing but positive thoughts for her since she seems like a cool person.

Celebrating her birthday months before the actual date at Disneyland was not enough for Miley Cyrus. In addition to that immense party, she is set to turn this year’s American Music Awards into a birthday bash.

The Hannah Montana star turns 16 on November 23rd, the same day as the AMAs, and many expected her to spend the day with family and friends - but she’s keen to work.

Cyrus will join Mariah Carey, Coldplay, Kanye West, Jonas Brothers, Alicia Keys, Rihanna and Taylor Swift, who are also performing at the the 36th annual AMAs.

Her father, Billy Ray Cyrus, is among the night’s presenters.

I am so excited to be able to perform live for my fans at the American Music Awards and celebrate my Sweet 16 too.

The event will cap a big week for the teenager, who will lead the 82nd annual Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade on November 27th.

Lindsay Lohan was set to host the World Music Awards with co-host Jesse Metcalfe, famous for being the sexy gardener in ‘Desperate Housewives.’

Soul mama Beyonce Knowles trying to get herself out of trouble denying she leaked a brand new track Justin Timberlake wrote for her online.

Justin’s representatives have no clue as to how the recording of their star client performing his new tack Magic made its way onto the Internet, but neither does Beyonce. Even her father/manager, Matthew Knowles, denies ever even knowing about the track and the controversy it’s already caused.

The song was allegedly written for the Wonder Woman wanna be by Justin himself, but Matthew Knowles told Us Weekly Magazine,

(The track) was never presented to me personally. We have a good relationship with Justin.”

I wouldn’t think Beyonce would be the one to leak the song. She’s a recording artist and knows what it’s like to have her pride and joy spoiled before it was even perfected. Possibly it was one of the interns or someone close to Beyonce that got jealous she received a personally-written song from the present King of Pop. Sounds like some Beyonce sabotage from within her own posse.

Michael Jackson’s Neverland Ranch will be retiring it’s infamous name after being sold to Colony Capitol investment firm based out of New York.

The California estate was set to be foreclosed on, but Wacko-Jacko was able to prevent that by handing over the $24.5 million property to the private equity group. The transaction has been completed as of Monday, Nov. 10th, according to Santa Barbara records, giving the title of Neverland to the Sycamore Valley Ranch Company LLC.

Michael still has some ownership to his former Neverland Ranch since he is part of the joint venture between him and the division of Colony Capitol. Other properties owned by the company are numerous high end Las Vegas establishments like the Red Rock Country Club and the Las Vegas Hilton. Could it be because of this deal why Michael is rumored to perform in the city of sin?

Neverland Ranch will now be part of the history books and the scarred memories of children. The ranch has taken on a new name, Sycamore Valley Ranch, in an effort to revamp its image. Smart move, there, Colony Capitol!

Black Eyed Peas front man Will I. Am is showing off his love for the president-elect Barack Obama. He wrote the song that basically says what everyone has been saying the past week about how a new era has emerged and how the African-American community has hope for the future without being oppressed any longer.

The video has a great message and the actual song isn’t all that bad. I’m just wondering when the hype over the election will fade and we can focus on getting this country back in shape.

Reports of having President-elect Barack Obama’s daughters, Malia and Sasha, guest starring on Disney’s hit sit-com Hannah Montana looks doubtful.

We reported earlier that producers of the show had wanted the future first-daughters to come onto the show for a quick cameo when star Miley Cyrus thought it would be cool to have them on the show. Disney Channel bosses released a statement,

We’re pleased that Malia and Sasha are fans and, as long as their parents say it’s okay, they are invited to the set of Hannah Montana, and all Disney Channel shows, for a guest role or a visit, anytime.”

Billy Ray Cyrus, father to Miley both in real life and on the show, was the one who let the cat out of the bag to Access Hollywood saying that they probably would make an appearance on the show, but Obama isn’t on the same page as him.

An Obama aide told the New York Daily News,

It’s a generous invitation, but they simply aren’t going to be making decisions of that kind right now.”

We didn’t elect Obama just because he is black, but because he is highly intelligent. Who wouldn’t want to keep their daughters out of the limelight after the last 22 months of constant campaigning? Obama told Good Morning America,

Paul Rudd is hosting the newest episode of Saturday Night Live this weekend and here is what he and Andy Samberg did to lure you in to watch.

This is the first time hosting for Rudd, who has been gaining more and more popularity thanks to his crude humor movies, most of which produced by Judd Apatow. His latest part in Role Models makes him really stretch his acting skills as he plays a motivational speaker who has a brief encounter with a nervous breakdown that causes him to wreck his business car and then ordered to 150 hours of community service at a Big Brother-type organization.

Even though the 39-year-old actor has been fortunate enough to keep a steady job in the industry, he has never felt like he’s made it. Having co-written Role Models and starring as the lead, Rudd stated to the San Francisco Chronicle,

I’ve never felt this sense of ‘I made it,’ but it did occur to me at some point that I’ve been able to make a living doing what I love and do it as much on my terms as I’d hoped.”

Well, he’s definitely made it if he’s hosting SNL. I’ve been a fan of Rudd’s since I first saw him as the nerdy ex-step brother in Clueless and always thought he should be at the top. I’m glad he was able to keep a career in the movies!
