Chris Martin Suggests Final Year For Coldplay

in Celebrities, Music by Chris on November 19th, 2008Comments

Chris Martin, frontman of Coldplay, suggests that the band may be coming to its final year before splitting up at the end of 2009.

Sorry all you Coldplay fans, but Martin told the Daily Express that his decision stemmed from his idea that all bands should call it quits before they get too old. Too late, buddy, your band has been slowing and not getting the best buzz since early of ‘08, so maybe Coldplay should end sooner.

I’m 31 now and I don’t think that bands should keep going past 33, so, we’re trying to pack in as much as possible. Up until the end of next year, we’ll just go for it in every sense.

Chris says he wants to go out with a bang and keep as busy as possible until 2009 ends, which will happen for them, because they are Coldplay and no matter what, they will continue to sell their tickets because people will want to see if they can get back to the level performance they had a couple years ago in their prime.

I don’t believe in time off. We’ve still got most of our hair, we can still fit into our musical trousers and we’ve got to make the most of that.”

I like the music that the band produces, but can’t stand the way they carry themselves. I don’t know how it is possible, but just like Usher and Prince, they have this pompous aura surrounding them that makes people so turned off. I’m just glad to hear they won’t be around much longer.

Enrique Iglesias Kicked Out By Anna Kournikova

in Celebrities by Chris on November 19th, 2008Comments

Enrique Iglesias screwed the pooch with his girlfriend of six years, former tennis star Anna Kournikova, getting kicked out of their house over a tiff about his dogs.

Iglesias swears that this is only a temporary move out of their Miami, Florida house, and insists they are still together. They got into a heated argument over his dogs and before he knew it, was out on the streets with no home to crawl back to.

In an interview with Britain’s Hello magazine, the hammy singer said,

We were living together for six months, but she kicked me out. We had a fight. We did make up, but she didn’t let me move back in. It was a stupid fight - something about my dogs. I’ll move back in when she lets me.”

That’s it?! It took six months to kick him out after six years together? Either she is a diva to live with or he’s just an idiot, but I still hope that they can reconcile their differences and move back in together.

Britney Spears: Life With No Passion Similar To Jail Sentence

in Britney Spears, Celebrities, Music, Television by Chris on November 19th, 2008Comments

Britney Spears may have had the best comeback in years, but the struggle she’s going through to get control of her life if her own version of a jail sentence.

There’s no excitement, there’s no passion. I have really good days, and then I have bad days. Even when you go to jail you know there’s the time when you’re gonna get out. But in this situation, it’s never ending. It’s just like Groundhog Day.”

Britney reveals this in her new 90-minute documentary, Britney: For The Record, set to air on MTV on Nov. 30th, in which a camera crew followed her around for three months as she got her life together and created her new album, Circus.

After her life had fallen apart in January of this year, being hospitalized for mental evaluation, losing custody of her sons Sean Preston and Jayden James, her father was granted legal control over her affairs. This was great for her career, but now she feels as if she’s trapped and has no freedom.

If you do something wrong in your work, you can move on, but I’m having to pay for a long time. I never wanted to become one of those prisoner people. I always wanted to feel free.

If I wasn’t under the restraints that I’m under right now, I’d feel so liberated. I think I’ve learned my lesson now, and enough is enough.”

Things are a lot more stifling in her life than I thought, but if she’s going to gain the respect of the music industry and of the people of the world, it’s a price she’s going to have to pay. Hopefully she won’t be a prisoner to her image for too much longer.

Miley Cyrus Ready to Smack YouTube Hacker

in Celebrities, Miley Cyrus by Chris on November 19th, 2008Comments

Disney Princess Miley Cyrus is ready to smack whoever it was that hacked into her YouTube account and made a fake video claiming she died in a car crash.

On Sunday, someone had uploaded a video onto Miley’s official page on YouTube that was sharing with the viewers on the site that she had fallen victim to a drunk driving accident. Can you imagine the shock and horror her fans went through that fell for the gag video? I wish I could have seen that!

Even though Cyrus has gotten used to all the fibs that come out about her in the media, her family and friends were very upset by the allegations posted on Sunday. Knowing the real truth that she was very much alive, they were quick to deny the claims and blamed the whole thing on a hacker.

In an interview with reporters on E!, Miley was playing along with the joke pretending to be unaware of the event saying,

What happened? Did I die, like, bungee jumping, getting bulldozed, what happened this time? I got hit by a drunk driver! Ok, good. Wait. What? On my Web page? No. My Web page got hacked?”

Once everything was cleared up with the Disney Pop-tar, she was not amused by the hacker and even gave out the worst threat I’ve ever heard,

I’m gonna, like, smack ‘em!”

South Park Sequel In The Works While They Spoof “Twilight”

in Movies/TV by Carolina on November 19th, 2008Comments

Good news for South Park fans. Co-creator and executive producer, Trey Parker, has revealed that a sequel is in the works. The long running show, which has been on the air for over a decade, is however, soon coming to an end.

Along with co-creator Matt Stone, the duo will continue producing episodes until 2011, and that might be their last contract.

When that day comes, expect for Stan, Kyle, Kenny, Cartman and the rest of gang to go out with a bang.

Parker says,

We talked about maybe some day doing a movie to sort of end it all, and that seems like the best idea. That’s been a big thought to do the last show as a movie. We came up with this pretty good idea for a movie, and then of course what happened was we got in the middle of a ‘South Park’ run, and were completely out of ideas. And we were like, well, we’ve got to use the movie idea. And that became ‘Imaginationland.’

For them to go to the big screen, however, the idea would have to be grand, Parker admits. Let’s hope they do!

Happy 80th Birthday To Mickey Mouse!

in World by Carolina on November 18th, 2008Comments

Our beloved Mickey Mouse has been an integral part of most people’s childhood memories, internationally speaking. Disney World symbolizes a land where dreams do come true, and whether you are cynical about it all or not, it comforts the soul to know that there is one place that allows you to unleash your inner child.

Today marks the 80th anniversary of the iconic Mickey Mouse’s first appearance in front of an audience.

The Walt Disney Company celebrates his birth as November 18, 1928 upon the release of Steamboat Willie.

Cartoonist Walt Disney was inspired to create the character thanks to an old pet mouse he used to have on his farm. Fun fact: His wife Lillian convinced him to change the name from Mortimer Mouse to Mickey Mouse came to be.

Ahhh as they say….behind every great man, there is an even greater woman!

Kanye West And Bono: Best Friends!

in Celebrities by Chris on November 18th, 2008Comments

Kanye West has a very unlikely mentor to help him in his times of frustration and need, U2 frontman Bono.

The two started their friendship back in 2006 when Kanye went to support the Irish rockers on tour in 2006. They began their bonding backstage, but cemented their friendship a little later in the year after the MTV Europe Music Awards where West notoriously was enraged by the fact that he didn’t receive any awards for his work.

West is very thankful to Bono, who was one of the only people who supported his childish tantrum while others bashed him for it, and admits that they have become close friends and confidantes.

West says of the friendship,

Bono took me under his wing and he believed in me.
When I made my protest over not getting an award at the MTV Awards a couple of years ago, and nobody wanted to hear anything from me afterwards, Bono and U2 stood by me.”

Britney Spears’ For The Record Clip

in Britney Spears by Carolina on November 18th, 2008Comments

On November 20th, MTV will release a 90 minute documentary on Britney Spears, called ‘For The Record’.

With her new album, Circus, set for release in just a few weeks, Brit is determined to show the world how she’s getting her life, and her career back in order.

Brit told MTV in a statement about the show,

So much has gone on over the last couple of years and there’s a lot that people don’t know about me that I want them to know. I wanted to make this film because I started to feel like I wasn’t being seen in the light that I wanted to be seen in. This is an opportunity to set the record straight and talk about what I’ve been through and where I’m headed.

It doesn’t look half bad, and I know I’ll be tuning in for it.

November 30th at 10pm.

Suri Cruise Gains Forbes Title as World’s Most Powerful Toddler

in Angelina Jolie, Britney Spears, Celebrities by Chris on November 18th, 2008Comments

Tom Cruise is one of the most powerful actors in Hollywood, celebrating his second anniversary with wife Katie Holmes and is the father of the World’s Most Powerful toddler.

Yes, Suri Cruise made it to the top of Forbes Magazine’s most influential child under the age of five, beating out Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt’s gang of children and even Madonna and Britney Spears‘ children.

They never said what their qualifications were to become the most powerful toddlers in the world, but somehow this is the list they formed. My guess is they went off the amount of combined publicity from their entire childhood and how well their parents are doing so far.

The top 10 is as follows:
1. Suri Cruise
2. Shiloh Jolie-Pitt
3. Zahara Jolie-Pitt
4. Pax Jolie-Pitt
5. Sam Alexis Woods (daughter of golf ace Tiger Woods)
6. Cruz Beckham
7. Matilda Rose Ledger (daughter of actress Michelle Williams and the late Heath Ledger)
8. David Banda (adopted son of Madonna and estranged husband Guy Ritchie)
9. Sean Preston Federline
10. Sam Sheen (daughter of Charlie Sheen and ex-wife Denise Richards).

Snoop Dogg’s Advice On Parenting For Barack Obama

in Celebrities by Chris on November 18th, 2008Comments

Rapper Snoop Dogg may not come across as being the best one to give advice, but he’s got some for President-elect Barack Obama on how to be a good father.

All Obama needs to remember to keep on his daughters’ good side is to learn how to bake and keep their friends coming over for sleepovers and other family events.

Holy crap, the notorious pot head must have used his time lost in his head to figure that out, and it’s pretty good advice, too! He says the key to win cool points with his girls Malia and Sasha is to keep them out of the spotlight by inviting over their friends to the house for sleepovers and fun events that would be fun for kids to experience.

The Drop It Like It’s Hot star also recommended that he become a good cook to keep the girls impressed. Snoop said,

Mr. President needs to learn how to bake a cake. That’s points for the man of the house - because I did that. I bake cakes and popcorn and cotton candy… Then they like for you to get out of their face and let them be kids.”

Wise words, Mr. Dogg, couldn’t have said it better myself.
