Ruben Garay attended the prestigious New York Film Academy where he graduated with honors after directing his 35mm thesis project “Joe Hollywood”. Prior to studying film, he spent 7 years running one of the most successful celebrity sites of all time, World of Britney.com, accruing 30 million members from all over the world until it was acquired by Hollywood.com in 2007. The website garnered worldwide attention by every major media outlet since its inception in 2000 by showing the power a large online community could have over one of the biggest artists of the decade before blogs, twitter and social media existed. He also studied music at Musician’s Institute in Hollywood as well as music video and commercial production. He has since worked as a music video and concert editor for Live Nation, headed the video production department at RadarOnline.com as well as produced and shot the 2 hour FOX special “Octomom: The Incredible Unseen Footage” which aired in August of 2009. The show was syndicated worldwide a few months later. He speaks fluent English, Spanish and Swedish. Having traveled all over the world from early on has given him a perfect conduit to tell rich and meaningful stories about people and the world they live in. His favorite setup for web productions is the Canon 5D/7D with the 50mm f1.4 lens coupled with the H4N for sync sound. On his spare time, he enjoys skydiving as well as piloting the Cirrus SR20.

In an attempt to find new and exiting work, combined with the burning thirst for adventure, Jimmy left the east cost and headed to Los Angeles in December 2008. There he has had the opportunity to work and learn with Create Advertising, a top-notch movie-trailer editing house. He then went on to produce the documentary “Baldy For The Blind”, a 2 hour journey in the hearts of 12 blind people who attempt to climb the 12,000 foot summit of California’s Mt. Baldy. The documentary, currently in post-production has already received critical acclaim, and was recently picked out of hundreds of submissions to be screened at Raleigh Studios in front of a crowd of industry people.
