Cher came clean to Oprah about her brief affair with Tom Cruise back in the 80’s.

Apparently Cher was quite the cradle robber back in 1986 when she had her eyes set on the then-newcomer, Tom Cruise when he she was 39 and he was 23. It was around the time that Cruise had finished filming Risky Business and was focused on making Top Gun.

“I was crazy about him,” Cher said on the Oprah Winfrey Show, also stating, “It could have been a great big romance because I was crazy for him.” The show is going to be aired in the U.S. next month where she went on to describe the young Cruise as an “awkward shy young man,” according to eFluxMedia.

What made the relationship fizzle out after several months of dating? It was when the young Cruise fell in love with his first wife, Mimi Rogers. They have long-since been divorced and he has been married to Nicole Kidman and now Katie Holmes, with whom he had his daughter Suri.

Cher, on the other hand, is still single. She says it is because men find it difficult to date a celeb of her status, but I think once you hit 60 for a woman, it’s hard to get a young boy-toy, even if you are someone like Cher. It’s ok, why would she want a boyfriend anyway? I’d go have fun with the rest of my life and not worry about the stresses of commitment.
