Cheri Oteri had an interesting weekend with the abrupt murder of her father, Gaetano Thomas Oteri, in Nashville, TN

Country songwriter Richard Fagan was arrested and charged with criminal homicide for the murder of the former SNL star’s dad, Tom. The two were longtime music associates and Oteri was Fagan’s publisher as well as roommate.

It was reported by The Tennessean newspaper that after being arrested Saturday night for a DUI, Fagan told police there had been a fight between the two men around 9 p.m. which resulted in him using his Colt pocket knife to cut Oteri across his body before leaving.

If you’re wondering what songs you might have heard from Richard Fagan, he wrote “Be My Baby Tonight” and “Sold (The Grundy County Auction Incident)” for John Michael Montgomery.

Cheri’s reps have released no comment on the subject.
