Bad news for our dear action star Wesley Snipes; because of his decision not to pay taxes from 1999-2001, he must serve the maximum penalty, 36 months in prison. Dude, that sucks!

Snipes went into court thinking that he was going to be ordered to home detention and have to make public service announcements because of his clean criminal records and misdemeanor. Not only did he pay $5 million to the court, but he also gave a heartfelt apology stating,

“I am an idealistic, naive, passionate, truth-seeking, spiritually motivated artist, unschooled in the science of law and finance,” calling himself, “well-intentioned, but mis educated.”- Huffington post

The U.S. District Judge William Terrell Hodges wanted to make the “Blade” star an example for the public, giving him the full sentence and being unchanged by Wesley’s apology. Hodges used the points that Snipes made around $13.7 million in those three years he didn’t pay up and that he thought these were serious crimes committed, even being just misdemeanors.

So it’s off to the big house for Wesley Snipes. I hope he’s in the right mind set and remembers his martial arts he learned from his countless action movies.
