Ewan McGregor was one of the lucky people who got his skin cancer treated before it ever got bad.
No worries to his fans, the Star Wars star says he is fine now, but revealed to the BBC that he was ”…forced to have a suspicious-looking facial mole – one of several – removed from just below his right eye.”
Skin cancer is no laughing matter, especially for fair-skinned people who spend any time in the sun. Dermatologists have been heightening the awareness on using strong sunscreen whenever you are out it in the sun for long periods of time.
Ewan has a message out there to anyone who has dark, irregular-shaped moles or freckles that it would be “best to be looked at [by doctors]”
The American Cancer Society is estimating 62,480 people will be diagnosed with Melanoma, skin cancer, in the U.S. alone, killing 8,420 people in 2008. Don’t be a statistic, GO GET YOUR SKIN CHECKED OUT!!!
