Audiences Want To Find The Forbidden Kingdom

It looks like Jackie Chan and Jet Li are kickin’ ass all the way to the bank as their new release, The Forbidden Kingdom, takes first place at the box office over the weekend.

It’s the first movie ever with the martial arts masters Jackie and Jet pairing up to tell the story of a far off kingdom only accessible to those chosen. North Americans sure soaked up all of the action-adventure making the film an estimated $20.9 million in ticket sales on it’s opening weekend.

Coming in second place for the weekend box office report was Forgetting Sarah Marshall, raking in $17.3 million. With it’s R rating, the film had a harder time getting bigger audiences, but they still proved to be a strong contender in the box office wars.

Third place went to Prom Night, the horror remake starring Brittany Snow, pulling in $9.1 million, with a 10-day total of $32.6 million.
